I have completed four years' training in Transactional Analysis. I am currently working towards CTA and UKCP accreditation.
I am an Accredited member of BACP and a student member of the UK Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA).
I am bound by the code of ethics and professional practice of UKATA and work in accordance with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) ethical framework of Good practice in counselling and psychotherapy.
I undertake regular supervision of my work with clients. I am committed to ongoing continuous professional development.
I am an ex- primary school teacher and decided to retrain, as I realised that it was the relationships both with pupils and parents, which were most important to me, rather than being in the classroom; I want to get to know my clients and find out what works for them.
I have experience of working with a wide variety of issues including anxiety, anger, trauma, childhood sexual abuse, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and stress.
I am particularly interested in the treatment of trauma and am part way through a training course on safer trauma therapy with one of the leaders in the field.
